Bali Mask Dance Workshop with Kadek Sudiasa
Learn the basics of Balinese Mask Dance in a relaxed, hands-on workshop with local mask maker and dancer Kadek Sudiasa. Kadek has been carving, playing music, and dancing since childhood, and he shares his knowledge in a clear and approachable way.
In this workshop, you’ll practice fundamental movements, posture, and rhythm used in Balinese dance. There is also a strong focus on body awareness, breath, and control—similar to yoga. Balinese dance requires balance, flexibility, and focus, so the class naturally includes elements that feel like a gentle physical and mental workout.
Kadek also explains the meaning behind the masks and characters, giving you a better understanding of how the dance connects to Balinese culture and tradition.
Classes are open to all levels, including complete beginners. The atmosphere is informal, and you can learn at your own pace with personal guidance.
Sessions are by reservation, with a recommended minimum of 2 hours to get the most out of the experience.
